The Impact
Why This Route
Transportation isn't a support function at Tempe Elementary — it's the first hour of a child's school day. Here's what that looks like from the driver's seat.
Before the bell
The first friendly face of the day
For a lot of students, the bus is where the school day actually begins. A driver who knows their name sets the tone for everything that follows.
Every single stop
Safety you can see from the sidewalk
Cameras, GPS, radio contact, and a pre-trip inspection on every bus, every morning. Families trust the yellow bus because of the person driving it.
Access to everything
Field trips, athletics, preschool routes
Museums, swim lessons, the science center, championship games. Without transportation, none of it leaves campus.
In the neighborhood
A job that keeps you close to home
Your route is in your own community. Many drivers are Tempe parents and grandparents — the same people at the grocery store and the Friday night 5K.
